It was always going to be a tough night at the Joie Stadium, as we took on the Women's Super League leaders Man City on their own turf for a place in the 2026 Women's League Cup final.

That was how it turned out, as we had to stand strong though periods of pressure, but carried plenty of threat of our own during an end-to-end encounter in Manchester.

In a tight contest, it was Wieke Kaptein's close-range header which ultimately decided the game in favour of the holders, giving us a 1-0 victory over Man City and setting up a meeting with their local rivals Manchester United in the final in Bristol in March.
