Chelsea ended the year in fabulous style with a huge 9-1 win over Liverpool in the Women's League Cup quarter-final at the BrewDog Stadium in St Helens.

Johanna Rytting Kaneryd scored a third of the goals on Sunday with a perfect hat-trick – her first ever for Chelsea – and Sam Kerr also weighed in with a brace.

Goals from Wieke Kaptein, Aggie Beever-Jones, Sjoeke Nusken and skipper Millie Bright completed the rout as the players headed off on their winter break in style.

The emphatic victory means we progress through to the Women's League Cup semi-finals, where we will face an away tie with Manchester City on January 21.
