A warm welcome to Sydney greeted the Chelsea players, as they were cheered on by over 5,000 fans for our open training session at the Allianz Stadium.
Xabi Alonso put his players through their paces in New South Wales, as preparations for our first fixture of our pre-season tour of Australia against Western Sydney Wanderers gathers pace.
The Spaniard certainly wasn’t afraid at getting his boots on and getting involved either, working with the likes of Estevao Willian and Marco Palestra in a series of crossing and attacking drills.
Robert Sanchez and Filip Jorgensen were both put to work by the likes of Cole Palmer, Liam Delap, Joao Pedro and Romeo Lavia, while defenders Wesley Fofana, Tosin Adarabioyo and Levi Colwill were also involved.
There was also a visit from Chelsea legend Gary Cahill, who interacted with the passionate Australian crowd, signing autographs and posing for several photos.
