A first senior Chelsea goal for Tyrique George and a brace from Noni Madueke ensured the Blues took control of our Conference League quarter-final tie against Legia Warsaw.

Enzo Maresca's side took control from the off in front of a raucous crowd in the Polish capital, but we were left frustrated in our first-half efforts as Legia sat deep and defended their box well.

It was a different story in the second period, and it started with George getting off the mark for the senior side. Four minutes after the restart, a powerful drive from Reece James was pushed back out by Legia goalkeeper Kacper Tobiasz, and George reacted quickest to turn the rebound home.

Madueke, introduced at the interval for Cole Palmer, soon doubled our advantage with a well-taken finish after being teed up by Jadon Sancho. And the duo combined again for the Blues' third, as Sancho's pass across goal was turned home by Madueke.

With three goals scored and a clean sheet once again kept by the Blues, it was a hugely positive night and we are firmly in control of the tie heading into next week's second leg at Stamford Bridge.
