It's official! Maika Hamano has renewed her contract with Chelsea until 2029.

The popular Japan international joined the Blues in January 2023 from INAC Kobe Leonessa in her home country.

Only 19 when she made the move overseas, Hamano has grown into her role in the Chelsea side, winning the Women's Super League title in her first full season under Emma Hayes, and becoming an important member of the team under Sonia Bompastor.

Hamano made 30 appearances in all competitions on the way to a domestic Treble in 2024/25, scoring six goals. The 21-year-old has already got off the mark this season too, netting our second in the win over Manchester City in the season opener at Stamford Bridge.
