The last of Chelsea’s international players who spent the summer at the FIFA World Cup returned to club duty on Tuesday, including four new signings linking up with their team-mates at Cobham for the first time.
A few of the Blues contingent competing for their countries in North America during the summer had already joined the squad during our pre-season tour of Australia and Asia, but the last remaining absentees who were involved in the latter stages of the World Cup were back today.
That included Reece James, Malo Gusto and Enzo Fernandez – who all progressed to the semi-finals and beyond at the World Cup – returning from their delayed summer break to get back to work ahead of the coming campaign.
Alongside them, there were also four new faces getting to work at Cobham for the first time on Tuesday, as summer signings Morgan Rogers, Jordan Henderson, Valentin Barco and Maxence Lacroix reported for duty as Chelsea players after completing moves during their post-World Cup break.
