Academy goalkeeper Lucas Bergstrom will spend next season on loan at Peterborough United.

The 19-year-old Finland Under-21 international (pictured above), who joined Chelsea during the 2018/19 season, made 15 appearances for our development squad last season and was an unused sub for the men’s first team for the home match against Zenit in the Champions League group stage.

Peterborough will be playing in League One this season having been relegated from the Championship.Eddie Beach, an 18-year-old goalkeeper, is joining the Chelsea Academy.Beach, who was previously at Southampton, is a Wales Under-19 international.Last season he was part of the Southampton side which made it all the way to the Under-18s Premier League national final, where they were defeated by Manchester City in front of a big crowd at St Mary’s. He also appeared in a PL2 game.Jim Fraser, Chelsea’s assistant head of youth development and head of youth recruitment, says:‘We are very pleased to bring Eddie to the club. He is a talented goalkeeper with good potential and will join our development squad for the coming season.’Former Chelsea defender Jake Clarke-Salter, whose departure from the club at the end of his contract was previously announced, has signed for Queens Park Rangers.
