Maika Hamano was on target for Japan as a number of Chelsea Women players featured in international friendlies for their respective countries.
Ahead of the upcoming Olympic Games, Japan, Canada, and Colombia were in friendly action as part of their preparation for Paris, with each nation having Chelsea representation in their squad.
Hamano came on as a half-time substitute in Japan's 4-0 win against Ghana. Four second-half goals, with our forward assisting the first and scoring the second, secured the victory for the home side.
Hamano's goal came in the 65th minute when the ball dropped at her feet at the back post after being flicked on by the head of Mina Tanaka from a corner, and she fired it into the back of the net.
Chelsea defenders Ashley Lawrence and Kadeisha Buchanan both started for Canada in their 2-1 win over Australia. In Marbella, Spain, the Canadians had to come from behind, scoring twice in the second half after the Matildas had opened the scoring in the 23rd minute.
Mayra Ramirez came on as a substitute at half-time in Colombia's 2-1 defeat at home to Ecuador. The visitors scored during injury time in the first half, before adding another just after the hour mark, while the home side pulled a goal back with less than five minutes left to go.
