Hannah Hampton put in a superb second-half performance for England in their World Cup qualifier in Iceland, while Johanna Rytting Kaneryd came on as a substitute in Sweden's win over Serbia and Wieke Kaptein scored for the Netherlands in a draw with France.

Chelsea had 18 players in action during the international break, representing 11 different nations. The European sides faced matches three and four of six Women's World Cup qualifiers, while Blues players from the rest of the world played in friendlies, except for Jamaica, who also faced qualification matches.

Here's a handy guide to all the latest results, plus a recap of how our players got on during the previous international fixtures in April.

European World Cup qualifiers

England

It was a momentous day for the Lionesses on Saturday as they marked their 500th game with a 1-0 win over Iceland.

Chelsea quartet Lucy Bronze, Hannah Hampton, Lauren James and Keira Walsh all started in this landmark fixture, while Niamh Charles was named on the bench. When Lauren Hemp fed in Alessia Russo with 21 minutes gone, the striker pivoted on the edge of the box to make space for a low finish into the bottom corner.

Hampton was also called upon multiple times in the second half against Iceland, as she kept England in the contest with a string of impressive saves. Charles was brought on to shore things up on 77 minutes as the Lionesses battled to a narrow win for the second time in a week.

The result in Iceland built upon an important 1-0 victory over Spain at Wembley Stadium, when Lauren Hemp netted early on, while Hampton and Bronze impressed in the second half with some resilient defensive work as the Lionesses battled to preserve the clean sheet.

That home victory sees England top Group A3 by three points over La Roja, and they will face them once more in Mallorca on 5 June.

France

Facing her Dutch teammates in back-to-back fixtures, France's Sandy Baltimore scored just after half-time as Les Bleues succumbed to a 2-1 defeat in Breda.

Laurent Bonadei's side had the chance to right that result when they welcomed the Netherlands to Auxerre on Saturday evening as the Chelsea wing-back was named in the starting XI once more.

And they made a great start in first-half stoppage time when Baltimore swung in a corner, which was headed home from close range by Marie-Antoinette Katoto. Yet the Dutch battled back, and Chelsea's Wieke Kaptein netted the equaliser with a header from the centre of the box.

The 1-1 draw sees France sit second in Group A2 by one point, with matches against Poland and Ireland still to come in June.

Germany

Midfielder Sjoeke Nusken started both games for Germany as Christian Wuck's side faced Austria in back-to-back Women's World Cup qualifiers during the international window.

The first encounter, held in Nuremberg, saw the Germans take a 5-1 victory over their near neighbours, before travelling to Austria for Saturday's rematch.

The Austrian defence fared much better on home soil, holding Germany to a 0-0 draw at the Josko Arena, with Janina Minge shown a red card after 79 minutes. That leaves Nusken and her compatriots sitting at the top of qualification Group A3 after four matches and will next face Norway at the beginning of June.

Netherlands

Young Blues duo Veerle Buurman and Kaptein were in the starting XI for both of their tough fixtures against France, and after a 2-1 win at home in midweek, they returned to face the same opponent in Auxerre on Saturday.

After 45 minutes of stalemate, France took the lead in first-half stoppage time when Blues wing-back Baltimore delivered an assist via a corner as Katoto's header put them 1-0 in front. That was before Kaptein headed home from Esmee Brugts' cross in the second half.

The draw sees the Netherlands top Group A2, with matches against Ireland and Poland to be played in June.

Scotland

After big wins over Luxembourg in March, Scotland faced a double-header of matches against Belgium in Group B4. Erin Cuthbert was selected to start in both games, as Melissa Andreatta's side earned a point with a stoppage-time goal from Kathleen McGovern at Easter Road in midweek.

The focus then switched to the reverse fixture in Leuven, and the sides took a point apiece again, this time with a 0-0 stalemate. Goalkeeper Sandy MacIver made a superb save from the home side in the second half, while McGovern and Freya Gregory both went close to scoring as Scotland pushed hard for the winner in the final stages.

Those two points mean that Scotland top Group B4 on goal difference, with two games against Israel to come in June.

Sweden

Johanna Rytting Kaneryd was called up for Sweden despite her injury sustained just before the international break. Chelsea head coach Sonia Bompastor explained that Sweden would continue to monitor her fitness, and while she was an unused substitute during their 2-1 defeat at the hands of Denmark, she was able to be involved in their next match.

That was a World Cup qualifier at home to Serbia, when Rytting Kaneryd was introduced as a 62nd-minute substitute in a 1-0 victory on Saturday. Sweden sit in second place in the table with seven points taken from four matches, one point behind leaders Denmark, who they will face once more at the beginning of June.

Switzerland

Livia Peng started both of Switzerland's World Cup qualifiers as they faced Turkiye at home and away during the April international break.

The Swiss claimed a 3-1 victory at home before switching to Sinop in Turkiye for the second fixture. This time, they took the lead through Strasbourg's Ana-Maria Crnogorcevic just after half-time, before being pegged back by the home side's Selen Altunkulak in the final stages of the match to earn the 1-1 draw.

Four points taken over the two matches sees Peng and her team-mates remain at the top of the Group B2 table by three points with two games remaining against Malta and Northern Ireland.

Rest of the World

Australia

Sam Kerr was the only Chelsea representative in the Matildas latest squad, with head coach Joe Montemurro opting to give Ellie Carpenter a rest during the April window.

Playing in their first FIFA Series tournament, Australia put together a 5-0 win over Malawi and a 2-0 victory over hosts Kenya with Kerr on target in both of those matches.

That meant the Aussies lifted the trophy at the end of the competition, an invitational football tournament which gives national teams from different confederations the chance to play against each other in friendly matches.

Canada

Kadiesha Buchanan made her first appearance for Canada since she suffered an ACL injury in November 2024, starting their FIFA Series match against Zambia in Brazil.

The defender played 78 minutes in the 4-0 victory in Cuiaba, and was an unused substitute when Les Rouges recorded a 3-1 win over South Korea.

Jamaica

Becky Spencer kept a clean sheet to help Jamaica to a 4-0 win over Antigua and Barbuda, as they now need just one point in their next fixture to secure qualification for the next FIFA Women’s World Cup and Olympic Games.

Spencer and the rest of the Reggae Girlz will face Guayana at home in their final Concacaf W Qualifier, in a match which kicks off at 1am UK time on Sunday 19 April.

USA

Facing a triple-header of friendly matches against Japan during this international break, Emma Hayes selected both Naomi Girma and Alyssa Thompson as goals from Rose Lavelle and Lyndsey Heaps secured a 2-1 victory in San Jose.

The head coach then made 11 changes to her line-up for the second match in Seattle, omitting Thompson from the squad and placing Girma on the bench. Japan secured a 1-0 win this time around, with on-loan Blues forward Maika Hamano grabbing the only goal of the game.

Yet the US came out on top overall as Thompson and Girma returned to the side for the final encounter in Ohio, and it was the latter of that Blues duo who opened the scoring with a header, the third international goal of her career so far.
