Hannah Hampton has been included in the five-player shortlist for the BBC Women’s Footballer of the Year 2025.
Now in its 11th year, the award celebrates the best footballers in the women’s game over a 12-month period.
The selection is based on performances from September 2024 to August 2025, with the nominees chosen by a large panel of experts involved in football around the world, including coaches, players, administrators and non-BBC journalists.
During that time, Hampton helped Chelsea to an unbeaten domestic Treble, as we won the Women’s Super League, Women’s League Cup and Women’s FA Cup last season.
The goalkeeper then went on to secure England’s number one spot and played every match on the way to winning the Women’s European Championship in the summer.
This nomination is the latest recognition of Hampton’s achievements over the last year. In September, she won the first-ever Women’s Yashin trophy award at the Ballon d’Or ceremony in Paris.
Earlier this month, Hampton was invited to Buckingham Palace to receive a ‘Love Your Eyes Special Recognition Award’ from the Duchess of Edinburgh for her advocacy and sharing her experience with strabismus, an eye condition requiring multiple surgeries in her childhood.
You can vote for Hannah via the BBC Sport Website until 31 October.
