Chelsea goalkeeper Hannah Hampton is one of six names nominated for the prestigious BBC Sports Personality of the Year prize.

It rounds off a memorable 2025 for Hampton, who played a key role in our domestic treble success at the end of last season. She finished as the joint-winner of the WSL’s Golden Glove award with 13 clean sheets in 22 games for us.

It was her performances for England at this summer’s European Championships that captured the nation's imagination as millions tuned in to watch the Lionesses win the tournament in Switzerland.

Hampton was the hero in both the quarter-final and final penalty shootouts as England beat Sweden and Spain respectively. Our keeper saved two spot-kicks in each, and also made several vital stops in regulation time to ensure England stayed in the competition.

She was named in the Euro 2025 Team of the Tournament and more recently won the Yashin Trophy, awarded to the world’s best female goalkeeper at the Ballon d’Or awards.

Hampton is nominated alongside her England team-mate Chloe Kelly, darts star Luke Littler, rugby union player Ellie Kildunne, golfer Rory McIlroy and Formula 1 champion Lando Norris.

Voting will take place during the show - broadcast live on BBC One - which this year is held on Thursday 18 December.

Congratulations on another amazing achievement, Hannah!
