Pernille Harder's goal proved decisive in sending Chelsea Women to the Champions League final for the first time and the Dane reflected afterwards on a milestone achievement for the club...

Having regularly been a scourge to Bayern Munich during her time in Germany, Harder was at it again at Kingsmeadow on Sunday afternoon.

It was her flicked header from Jess Carter's free-kick that finally gave the Blues an advantage in the semi-final tie and, following some last-ditch defending and a fourth goal from Fran Kirby in the dying seconds, that secured our place in the European final later this month.

After the game, Harder reflected on the amazing effort and achievement of her team-mates.

'I’m so proud, it’s an unbelievable feeling,' she said.

'Winning like this when we were down 2-1 [in the tie], and then we go and put in an unbelievable effort in the game and win 4-1, it’s amazing. This is why we play football.'

For her headed goal, Harder's quick dash towards the front post paid off.

'I was just doing my run in the box that I had to do and I went a bit earlier than normal,' she added. 'Jess put in an unbelievably good cross so I just had to put a little flick on it.'
