Aggie set the tone at Eden Park, with the 23-year-old scoring a 22-minute hat-trick to put the Blues firmly in the driving seat. Sandy Baltimore added a fourth shortly after, before Giulia Dragoni fired home her first goal as a Chelsea player.

Maika Hamano then headed in the Blues’ sixth with a diving header, before Mayra Ramirez rounded off the scoring with her first goal since returning from last season’s injury layoff, completing a dominant victory in New Zealand.

As well as being pleased with the scoreline, Aggie highlighted how much of a confidence boost the performance will give her and the team.

‘I think it's super important, and obviously a good way to kick-start pre-season, and at such a historic stadium,’ Beever-Jones reflected.

‘I think also so many different goalscorers as well, which is always nice. It's always nice to get minutes and then get rewarded with goals.

‘But I think, amongst that, we had a great performance trying to break down a team that was sitting in a low block, and I think we did that really well. Then I think the second half was really good to build on that first half. Goals from Maika, Mayra, and Giulia as well on her debut, which is really sweet.’

Beever-Jones was also quick to praise some of our new recruits and their efforts during the game, with the likes of Katie McCabe impressing on their debut.

‘They don’t even feel like they're new members because they've slotted right in,’ Aggie explained. ‘Katie is one of them. I think she adds a bit of experience and is so authoritative on the pitch.

‘It's a real privilege to play with so many great players, especially the young ones coming through. We've got so many academy kids as well, Lola, Chloe, and Nelly and new talent as well. I think they're really adding to what Chelsea is and something to really build on.’

Now it’s all eyes on Wednesday when the Blues travel to Sydney to take on the A-League Women All-Stars, and it’s fair to say Aggie is ready for the challenge.

She continued: ‘I think it'll be a really good game. I'm so excited to go to Sydney and just explore there. Obviously, Ellie's given us some good recommendations, and I think she said it's going to be sold out, which will be a really cool occasion. I think they'll put up a good fight for sure, so I think it'll be a good game.’
