Emma Hayes praised her 'seamless' Chelsea side after a 4-0 route of Paris FC concluded a perfect UEFA Women’s Champions League group stage.
Goals from Fran Kirby, Mia Fishel, Guro Reiten, and Maren Mjelde ensured a smooth trip across the channel and confirmed top spot in Group D.
The Chelsea starting XI was much changed from the team that thumped Brighton last weekend, with Hayes making nine alterations to her line-up.
Only the influential Kirby and Eve Perisset kept their starting spots, ahead of a hectic run in the schedule of four games in the space of just 13 days.
But despite the alterations to the team, Hayes’ side looked fluent from the off, dominating a Paris team that had already shocked Arsenal and Wolfsburg earlier in the competition.
'Naturally, everyone wants to play all of the time,' said Hayes after the win. “But just make sure when you get your opportunities you make them matter.
'Come the end of the season if you want to pick up medals, you might have to sacrifice a little bit of your playing time to do that.
'That is the challenge I have on a daily basis. There is no difference between the starting and finishing group, there literally is no difference in terms of level.
'And that is probably the dream scenario that I want to create. Tonight’s performance was reflective of the work everybody does in training and it felt seamless.”
One of the returning players was midfielder Jelena Cankovic, who created the opening two goals in a dazzling player-of-the-match display.
The Serb has missed a large amount of football over recent months, but produced a perfect cross for Kirby to head home a tenth-minute opener.
'She (Kirby) actually always reminds me of the headers she has got throughout her career,' added Hayes. 'But it was a really, really good break of play down that left-hand side.
'I thought Aggie Beever Jones had a really good game out on that left. It was also a lovely ball in from Jelena for both goals.
'But like I’ve said before, they play like they train. So I’m used to seeing that and I expect that. It is always great when you make the changes and, because of the quality and strength in depth we have, we’re able to put in a performance like that.'
