Moises Caicedo has been named on the shortlist for the October Premier League Goal of the Month award.

The midfielder's thunderous strike against Liverpool has been chosen as one of the nominations for this month's Premier League Goal of the Month. He set us on our way to a memorable 2-1 victory over the reigning champions at Stamford Bridge, which was later sealed by Estevao Willian’s dramatic first goal for Chelsea, deep into added time.

Caicedo’s opener was certainly worthy of a nomination and continued his happy habit of scoring screamers for the Blues. A quick pass from Malo Gusto released him into the Liverpool half, and the Ecuadorian drove into the space, before unleashing an unstoppable rocket into the top corner from outside the box.

Our No.25 is one of eight players named on the award’s shortlist in October, facing competition from: Antoine Semenyo and Justin Kluivert (both Bournemouth), Nick Woltemade (Newcastle United), Emiliano Buendia (Aston Villa), Mohamed Salah (Liverpool), Loum Tchaouna and Zian Flemming (both Burnley).

The winner of Premier League Goal of the Month is decided by a public poll and you can cast your vote for Moi here until midday on Monday 3 November. The winner will be revealed at 1pm on Friday 7 November.

If successful, Caicedo will become the first Chelsea player to take home a Premier League award this season, and the first to receive the Goal of the Month honour since Nicolas Jackson in October last year.
