Mike Penders has received a nomination for the October Premier League Save of the Month award.

Our Belgian goalkeeper only made his Premier League debut two weeks ago, when he came off the bench to replace the injured Emiliano Martinez in the 2-0 win away at Everton.

He continued between the posts for our remaining two league fixtures in October, keeping his first solo clean sheet in the most recent of those, when we beat Manchester United 2-0 at Stamford Bridge.

It was in that game that Penders produced the stunning save which has been nominated for the monthly award. He showed quick reflexes and excellent agility to divert Bryan Mbeumo’s powerful drive onto the crossbar with his fingertips late on, keeping his clean sheet intact.

Alongside Penders, the other five goalkeepers on the award shortlist are Zion Suzuki (Aston Villa), Bart Verbruggen (Brighton & Hove Albion), Christian Walton (Ipswich Town), Walter Benitez and Dean Henderson (both Crystal Palace).

The winner will be decided by a public poll and you can help Penders to claim the October Premier League Save of the Month award by casting your vote here before the deadline of midday on Monday 9 November. The winning goalkeeper will be revealed at 2pm on Friday 13 November.
