Complementing the on-pitch action when Chelsea Legends take on Liverpool Legends at Stamford Bridge on Saturday is the next of the Chelsea Heritage Partnership’s Those Were the Days gatherings and exhibitions in the Tea Bar pre-match.

In collaboration with Chelsea Football Club and the Chelsea Museum, the Chelsea Heritage Partnership, a group of supporters who research, record and share the club’s history, will be showcasing many of the players involved in the weekend game from when they were back in their prime.

On the TV screens there will be match action featuring those former Blues as well as other classic encounters with Liverpool, plus a presentation from club historian Rick Glanvill telling the story of Chelsea’s first-ever match at the Bridge – which was a friendly against the same opposition 120 years ago.

The Heritage Partnership will have available newspaper articles and match reports from back in the day and also on show from the Chelsea Museum will be a range of relevant artifacts including shirts famously worn by some of those taking to the pitch from 3pm onwards.

Supporters can visit the Those Were the Days event any time from 1pm up until that kick-off and entry is free, with refreshments on sale.

The Tea Bar is located at the south end of the stadium, between Frankie’s and the ticket office and opposite the Shed Wall.
