Bashir Humphreys has signed a new four-year contract with Chelsea and will spend the remainder of the campaign on loan at Swansea City.

The centre-back has signed a deal until 2027 – with the club option of a further year – and will continue his development at the Stadium this season.

It will be the defender’s second spell away from Chelsea, after a successful four-month loan to German side SC Paderborn last season, where he made 13 appearances.

The centre-back, captain of the development squad in the first half of last season, excelled on our summer pre-season tour of America, appearing in all five of our matches stateside.

Humphreys will now continue his development in the second tier of English football.

Good luck, Bashir!
