I Am Estevao charts the unique journey of the 19-year-old from the city of Franca in south-east Brazil, through the Santos and Palmeiras youth systems, to arriving in London and that incredible goal against Barcelona.

Estevao’s family and early coaches provide exclusive input, describing the young boy who would develop into the man we see in Blue today. Chelsea legends, including Thiago Silva and David Luiz, also provide their views on Estevao's journey so far.

Estevao gives insight in the documentary into why he chose Chelsea, what it was like playing – and scoring – for Palmeiras against his future employers at the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup, and the words he exchanged with Cole Palmer after that game.

‘I believe it was a very important match in my life and that it will be marked in my history,’ says Estevao. ‘Playing against my future club was something amazing. After the game, I felt very well-received.

'I didn’t understand Palmer much! All I understood was ‘excited’, then someone came over who spoke Spanish or Portuguese, and that helped me a lot. He was my translator at the time!

‘So they were saying they were excited to see me, to welcome me at Chelsea, so I was very happy.’

In the documentary, now available exclusively on CFC+, Estevao also discusses his adaptation to English football and life at Stamford Bridge, and the emotion of his memorable goals against Liverpool and Barcelona is beautifully conveyed.
