The Terrorism (Protection of Premises) Act 2025, also known as ‘Martyn’s Law’, will come into effect in the UK in 2027. The legislation will require the club to demonstrate enhanced and robust security arrangements for everyone attending our home games.  

The bag policy is one of the measures we have in place for the safety and security of everyone attending our matches. 

Bag policy 

To help maintain a safe environment and support quicker entry to Stamford Bridge, only bags no larger than A4 size are permitted. The maximum permitted dimensions are 30cm × 20cm × 10cm, approximately the size of a standard handbag. 

In anticipation of the requirements under Martyn’s Law, the bag policy will be strictly applied for all home matchdays at Stamford Bridge.  

Any bag that exceeds these dimensions will not be permitted into the stadium.

The club strongly recommends that supporters avoid bringing bags to Stamford Bridge where possible. Supporters bringing a permitted bag should allow extra time for entry, as all bags are subject to search. 

While the club does not provide a bag storage facility at the stadium, options are available in the local area, including a matchday bag drop provided by Fulham Broadway Shopping Centre. You can find more information about this bag drop by clicking here.

Any bag storage services in the local area are operated independently and are not affiliated with or controlled by the club. 

Medical exemptions

Exemptions to bag size restrictions will continue to be available for supporters who need to bring accessibility or medical equipment.
