Enzo Maresca challenged his Chelsea side to produce a 'serious' performance against FC Noah at Stamford Bridge. With eight goals scored, a clean sheet recorded, and a little piece of Conference League history written, the Blues head coach certainly got what he wanted.
The deadlock was broken early into the contest when Tosin Adarabioyo headed home a corner from Enzo Fernandez. Marc Guiu doubled the lead – and scored his first Chelsea goal – seconds later, and from that point on victory was not in doubt.
Further first-half goals were netted. There was a header from Axel Disasi from another Fernandez corner, a neat finish from Joao Felix following a turnover in Noah's defensive third, a thunderous 20-yard strike from Mykhailo Mudryk, and another Felix goal.
The Blues weren't quite as clinical in the second period but a brace from Christopher Nkunku, the second of which came from the penalty spot, ensured Chelsea claimed the biggest margin of victory in Conference League history – and cemented our place atop the league phase table.
We have picked out our favourite images from a positive and enjoyable night's work at the Bridge, with all eight goals showcased. Enjoy!
