The new season is now officially under way and we have picked out some of the best images from our opening Premier League fixture against Crystal Palace at Stamford Bridge.
Our campaign began under bright sunshine on a fine summer's afternoon in west London, when we hosted Palace in our first Premier League fixture and took to the pitch for competitive action for the first time since being crowned world champions in the USA.
That new status was marked before kick-off with a banner being proudly displayed by the supporters in the stands, as well as those adorning the inside and outside of our stadium.
Once the match got going, Chelsea dominated possession and pushed the visitors back into their own half for long periods, but Palace demonstrated why they were able to add last week's Community Shield to the FA Cup they won earlier this year, stubbornly limiting the amount of clear chances we could create.
The likes of Marc Cucurella, Trevoh Chalobah, Estevao Willian, Andrey Santos and Liam Delap all had good opportunities to score, while at the other end Eberechi Eze had a goal ruled out following a VAR check.
