No team had ever achieved an invincible season in the 22-game Women's Super League era. Then came Sonia Bompastor's Chelsea, who secured a sixth consecutive title in the most impressive fashion and lifted the trophy this afternoon at Stamford Bridge.
The Blues led from the front for much of the campaign and sewed up the title with two matches to spare. Yet it wasn't until this afternoon in west London that Bompastor and her players got their hands on the silverware.
Liverpool first had to be overcome to guarantee an unbeaten campaign. That was achieved as Aggie Beever-Jones rifled home in stoppage time to seal a 1-0 victory.
Then came the celebrations, which lasted into the early evening as the players' families joined the squad on the pitch to soak up the party atmosphere.
We have pulled together our favourite images from today's trophy lift and the celebrations that took place on the Stamford Bridge pitch. So settle in, enjoy, and revel in another Chelsea title triumph.
