It began with the appointment of new boss Sonia Bompastor and the French tactician made it immediately clear that she meant business.

We kicked off the season with a 1-0 win over Aston Villa at Kingsmeadow in the Women's Super League and capped off a stunning campaign with a 3-0 victory over Manchester United in the FA Cup final at Wembley Stadium.

In between, we lifted the League Cup trophy with a 2-1 win over Manchester City in mid-March and secured the title at Leigh Sports Village at the end of April, when a Lucy Bronze goal was enough to defeat Man Utd by a 1-0 scoreline.

Such a huge accomplishment required grit, determination and unshakeable belief through the challenging moments, including a heavy defeat to Barcelona in the Women's Champions League semi-final.
