As part of the WSL’s Fan Choice trial which was announced ahead of the new season, Chelsea fans wishing to do so were able to drink alcohol at their seats in selected areas of Stamford Bridge at last Friday's match.

It was the first time for many years this was available in the stadium and with this trial a success as Chelsea Women defeated Manchester City, the opportunity will open for the first time at Kingsmeadow when the Blues take on Leicester City Women on Sunday 21 September.

It will also be repeated for the next WSL match at the Bridge – which is on the weekend of Friday 31 October-Sunday 2 November when newly promoted London City Lionesses will be the visitors.

For the Kingsmeadow match, both the West and North Stands will have in-seat drinking available for the first time.

At last week’s Stamford Bridge match, supporters in the West Stand lower tier and the hospitality areas were able to enjoy their drinks from the comfort of their seats while watching the on-pitch action. For the Chelsea Women vs London City Lionesses match, the trial is being extended to include the Matthew Harding Stand lower tier and the Shed End lower tier which along with the West lower, means it will cover all the lower bowl of the stadium apart from our Family Stand located in the East Stand lower tier.

In-seat drinking will also continue in hospitality areas.

Sonia Bompastor’s side, which went through the previous WSL season undefeated, have made a winning start to this one, and tickets to see them take on Leicester and London City Lionesses are on sale now.
