Kadeisha Buchanan fills us in on her footballing journey and how she likes to spend her time behind the scenes.

Could you start by telling us where you grew up and what it was like?

I grew up in Toronto and Brampton. So, rough areas, but it was good fun.

What age did you start playing football?

Eight years old.

What was the name of your first grassroots team?

Brampton United.

Who has been the biggest influence on your football career to date?

I'd say my peers, my team-mates.

What's been your career highlight to date?

Becoming an Olympic champion.

Who are your best friends in football?

Shanice van de Sanden and Lauren James.

Could you name your top three favourite players of all time?

Christine Sinclair, Ronaldinho and Marta.

Have you got any nicknames?

Keisha.

What do you like to do away from football? How do you switch off?

Reading and having a nap.

Are you watching any TV series currently?

I've just started Grey's Anatomy from the beginning.

What are your top three holiday destinations, either that you’ve been to or want to visit?

Jamaica, Turks and Caicos, and Greece.

If you had guests over for dinner, what would you cook for them?

Ooh. Let's see... I'd make jerk chicken wings.

Maybe that both of my parents are Jamaican.

Work hard even when no one's watching.
