Aggie Beever-Jones and Lucy Bronze were both on the scoresheet as England beat 10-player Australia 3-0 at Pride Park in a friendly on Tuesday evening, while Sjoeke Nusken was on the winning side as Germany beat France to reach the UEFA Women's Nations League final.

England's match was part of a 'Homecoming' series of friendlies organised after their win at Euro 2025. Blues stars Beever-Jones, Bronze, Hannah Hampton and Keira Walsh were all named in Sarina Wiegman's starting XI, while Chelsea team-mates Sam Kerr and Ellie Carpenter started for opponents Australia.

Just a minute after Alanna Kennedy had been sent off for pulling down Alessia Russo, Beever-Jones opened the scoring for the Lionesses, but not before her free-kick on the edge of the box had been blocked by the wall. Bronze then picked up the loose ball inside the box, played in her Blues team-mate, and Beever-Jones curled home her shot at the second attempt.

After providing the assist, it was Bronze's turn to find the back of the net. Starting the match on her 34th birthday, the right-back once again found herself involved at the top end of the pitch when Ella Toone pulled the ball back to her in space and she responded with a low and hard shot into the bottom corner.

Bronze was replaced by Blues team-mate Niamh Charles at the start of the second half, and Walsh was withdrawn after an hour. Matildas boss Joe Montemurro gave Kerr 70 minutes before she was substituted for Clare Wheeler.

England continued to dominate the rest of the contest, and Georgia Stanway added a third with a stoppage-time penalty strike to round off the evening in Derby.

Meanwhile, in competitive action, Germany went into their Nations League semi-final second leg against France with a slender 1-0 lead. Les Bleues duo Oriane Jean-Francois and Sandy Baltimore were named in the starting XI for the clash at the Stade Michel d'Ornano in Caen, while Sjoeke Nusken was once again in the lineup for the opposition.

Manchester United's Melvine Malard put France back on level pegging on aggregate with a goal after just three minutes, but Germany retook the lead by drawing the scores level on the night with a goal from Nicole Anyomi nine minutes later.

Germany took control of the tie early in the second half when Nusken squared the ball to Klara Buhl on the edge of the box, and the Bayern Munich forward smashed the ball into the roof of the net.

There was some late drama when Clara Mateo struck in the 89th minute to level the scores. Nonetheless, Germany had their one-goal advantage from the first leg that ultimately gave them a 3-2 aggregate victory. Christian Wuck's side will now face Spain in the final on 2 December.

Norway and Japan faced each other at a neutral venue in Spain for a friendly encounter earlier in the evening.

Chelsea's Guro Reiten and Maika Hamano started for their respective sides, and it was Norway that came out on top with a 2-0 victory at the Estadio Municipal de La Linea de la Concepción in Cadiz. Signe Gaupset scored a brace for the Norwegians, with Reiten providing the assist for her opener.

There was more friendly action in Dunfermline, where Scotland hosted Switzerland. Erin Cuthbert started for the home side and faced Chelsea team-mate Livia Peng in goal for the visitors. The first half was frenetic and ended at 2-2, and in the second half, the Swiss added a further two goals to take the 4-2 victory.

Over in the Netherlands, Wieke Kaptein started in a 1-0 home friendly against Canada, with Veerle Buurman coming on as a 49th-minute substitute.

In competitive action, Spain made it through to the UEFA Women's Nations League final after a solitary goal from Alexia Putellas saw off Sweden with a 1-0 victory. Nathalie Bjorn and Johanna Rytting Kaneryd were both named in the starting XI at the Gamla Ullevi stadium, but the damage had already been done with a 4-0 defeat away from home in the first leg.
