Ellie Carpenter made her 100th appearance for the Matildas before they succumbed to a friendly defeat in the early hours of Sunday morning, while Alyssa Thompson also represented the USA in their match against Brazil.
Carpenter wore the armband on her special evening at the McDonald Jones Stadium, completing the full match in New South Wales. Joe Montemurro's side dominated possession on the evening, but succumbed to a late 1-0 defeat courtesy of a stoppage-time goal from Mexico's Diana Ordonez.
Meanwhile, Alyssa Thompson was named in the USA starting XI as they faced Brazil in a friendly in Sao Paulo, sitting alongside her sister Giselle on the team sheet for a record-extending sixth occasion.
Emma Hayes' side got off to a flying start when Sophia Wilson gave them the lead after two minutes, but they were soon hit with two quick-fire goals as Brazil took only their fifth-ever win against the American opposition.
Blues forward Thompson played the first half before being switched for Michelle Cooper on 46 minutes. The two sides will meet again on Wednesday in Fortaleza, with kick-off set for 1.30am UK time.
Meanwhile, Mayra Ramirez came on as a 55th-minute substitute during Colombia's 1-0 friendly win over Uruguay on Saturday.
The Blues striker recovered from a lengthy injury layoff to feature in our final match of last season at home to Manchester United and also played minutes in the World Sevens tournament at the end of May.
