Malo Gusto's France got the better of a Brazil side featuring both Andrey Santos and Joao Pedro as Les Bleus recorded a 2-1 friendly win at the Gillette Stadium in Massachusetts, USA.
Both countries were led by former Blues, with Didier Deschamps, who won the FA Cup in 2000 during his season with us, taking on ex-Chelsea boss Carlo Ancellotti at the home of NFL team the New England Patriots
Gusto and Andrey Santos both started the contest, as Brazil had early chances when Raphinha struck a first-time effort over the bar and Gabriel Martinelli shot wide from distance.
But France took the lead just after the half-hour mark when Kylian Mbappe was released and the Real Madrid frontman produced a classy finish to lift the ball over Ederson and move within one goal of Les Bleus' top goalscorer, another former Blue Olivier Giroud.
Brazil were given extra hope ten minutes into the second half when Dayot Upamecano's foul on full-back Wesley just outside the area was upgraded from a yellow to a red card following a VAR check.
But shortly after Joao Pedro came on for Martinelli, it was France who grabbed the game's second goal when Micheal Olise slipped in Hugo Ekitike and the Liverpool forward chipped over the on-rushing Ederson once more.
Andrey Santos made way for Danilo on 71 minutes and while Joao Pedro's introduction helped give Brazil a focal point up top and he scrapped away, they had to wait until the 78th minute for Bremer to pull one back when he tapped home at the far post from close range.
Gusto was substituted in injury-time for Pierre Kalulu as France held on for the victory.
Les Bleus' attention now turns to taking on Colombia in Maryland on Sunday, while Brazil face Croatia in Orlando on Tuesday night.
