Naomi Girma led the USA to their fifth consecutive clean sheet, as the USA beat Canada 3-0 in Washington in their final friendly of the summer.

USA head coach Emma Hayes had rested the players based in Europe for this set of post-season fixtures, except for Girma who looked to build on her minutes after returning from injury in the final part of our domestic campaign.

Goals from Sam Coffey, Claire Hutton and Yasmeen Ryan saw the USWNT record their 54th all-time win over Canada, the most over any single opponent in their history.

Girma played the full match in front of a sold-out crowd at Audi Field, in what was another strong defensive display. In their last five outings, the USWNT have racked up a combined score of 18-0 over their opponents.

Hayes’ side will next be in action in early September, when they host the Republic of Korea and Japan, before the World Cup Qualifiers begin in 2026.
