Chelsea striker Nicolas Jackson earned his 15th cap for Senegal as the Lions of Teranga claimed victory over Burundi.
The Blues frontman started the Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Burundi and had three strikes at goal.
Jackson's Senegal dominated the game heading into the interval, but they were unable to break the resolute defending from Burundi, with more of the same at the start of the second-half.
The 23-year-old would be substituted with half an hour left to play as Habib Diallo came on with the West African side looking to rotate their attacking force.
Ten minutes later, Crystal Palace's Ismaila Sarr converted for Senegal from the penalty spot to move them to top spot in Group L, and above Burkina Faso and Malawi after their 1-0 victory was confirmed.
That match marks the end of Jackson's September international window, with Senegal to face an AFCON qualification double header against Malawi in October.
