Ezenwata and Walsh feature in Under-19s win

Chizaram Ezenwata and Reggie Walsh both came off the bench as England Under-19s recorded a 2-1 victory over Norway in Marbella.

The Chelsea pair were introduced in the 70th minute, with Ezenwata replacing Alejandro Rodriguez and Walsh, currently on loan at Wigan Athletic, taking over from Luca Williams-Barnett.

Williams-Barnett and Rodriguez had established a two-goal lead before the interval, with Norway halving the deficit shortly after the restart. Goalkeeper Freddy Bernal was an unused substitute as England saw out the win ahead of Friday’s meeting with the United States.

Academy quartet could feature on Wednesday

Alfie Osborne will be hoping to feature for Scotland Under-19s when they conclude their series of friendlies in Spain against Ukraine tomorrow. The match in La Nucia kicks off at 10am UK time.

Calvin Diakite, Jashayde Greenwood and Gabriel Sambou could also be involved when England Under-18s face Korea Republic in the UEFA Friendship Cup in Nyon, Switzerland, at the same time.

All three Blues are in Will Antwi’s squad, with that fixture completing England’s group-stage programme before a final placement match on Saturday.
