Johanna Rytting Kaneryd was named Player of the Match as Sweden beat Germany 4-1 to finish top of their Euro 2025 group.

Both countries went into tonight's match at Stadion Letzigrund in Zurich knowing progression was already guaranteed but top spot was still up for grabs.

Germany, whose side included Sjoeke Nusken, took the lead after just seven minutes when a neat through ball saw Jule Brand race through and calmly slot home.

Poor defending allowed Stina Blackstenius in to equalise just five minutes later and Sweden, who had Nathalie Bjorn in the heart of their defence, never looked back.

The 2023 World Cup bronze medallists took the lead in bizarre circumstances when Smila Holmber's mazy run ended with the full-back's tackle rebounding past former Blue Ann-Katrin Berger.

Rytting Kaneryd's quick feet and skill inside the penalty area just after the half-hour mark ended up playing a huge role in the direction of the game. Her lay-off for Fridolina Rolfö saw the striker's goal-bound shot blocked by Carlotta Wamser but the defender used her arm and was given a straight red card.

Rolfö marked her 100th cap in style by converting the penalty to make it 3-1 and Sweden never looked like giving up their advantage.

Rolfö and Chelsea's Bjorn were taken off at the break before Sweden dominated the second half. Rytting Kaneryd helped round off the victory with ten minutes remaining by volleying a cross into the path of Lina Hurtig and the former Arsenal defender applied the finish from close range.

The result meant Sweden finished top of their pool to set up a quarter-final clash with the runners-up in Group D - a spot currently occupied by England.

Group D will conclude on Sunday when the Lionesses face Wales, who can still qualify, and leaders France take on the Netherlands. You can find out when our players are next in action by checking our guide to when Chelsea players are involved at Euro 2025.
