Johanna Rytting Kaneryd and Nathalie Bjorn started for Sweden on Thursday evening as they took on Norway in a European Championship warm-up friendly, with Guro Reiten starting for the opposition.

Sweden came out on top with a 2-0 win, as Rytting Kaneryd supplied a cross from the right-hand side for Stina Blackstenius to slide in and poke home the opener after 17 minutes.

The Chelsea winger was on hand once again just before half-time, playing an inch-perfect pass to Filippa Angeldal, who fired home their second goal high into the roof of the net.

Reiten played all 90 minutes of Norway’s defeat, while Bjorn was replaced at half-time for Sweden, and Rytting Kaneryd departed after 62 minutes.

Up next for Sweden is their first Euro 2025 match against Denmark on 4 July, while Norway face hosts Switzerland in the tournament opener on 2 July.

Meanwhile, Wieke Kaptein and Veerle Buurman were both selected to start by boss Andries Jonker as the Netherlands recorded a 2-1 friendly win over Finland.

Vivianne Miedema scored both goals for the Oranje as both Blues were replaced in the 89th minute of their side’s win. The Netherlands are next in action at Euro 2025, with a Group D clash against Wales on 5 July.

Over in Colorado, Naomi Girma captained the USWNT for just the second time as she played 73 minutes in their 4-0 friendly win over the Republic of Ireland. Goals came from Avery Patterson, Sam Coffey, Rose Lavelle and Alyssa Thompson as Emma Hayes’ side also recorded their third consecutive clean sheet.

The USWNT will face the Republic of Ireland again on Sunday, this time at the TQL Stadium in Cincinnati.

Our new signing Livia Peng was also in action for Switzerland in their Euro 2025 warm-up friendly against Czechia. The goalkeeper was selected to start as her side ran out 4-1 winners at the Stadion Schutzenwiese on Thursday.
