It is set to be a big week on the international scene during the November break, with Chelsea players involved in crucial qualification matches across four continents...
Chelsea may not be in Premier League action over the next week, but there is still set to be plenty of excitement on offer, thanks to some massive fixtures involving Blues players for their countries during the international break.
Closest to home, the group stage of qualifying for next summer's European Championship in Germany reaches a dramatic conclusion, with several automatic spots at the tournament still up for grabs going into the final two rounds of fixtures.
There are also decisive qualifiers taking place in the CONCACAF region, with the two-legged quarter-finals of the Nations League determining which four countries will compete for the trophy at the finals in March 2024, as well as receiving a guaranteed spot as a guest entrant in the 2024 Copa America in the USA.
At the other end of their campaigns, the African section of qualifying for the 2026 World Cup gets under way this month, while the South American qualification campaign for the same tournament continues with matchdays five and six taking place in November.
Here are all the Chelsea players called up by their country so far and when they are in action (all times UK)...
2026 World Cup qualifying
Argentina
Enzo Fernandez – There are two massive games in qualifying for the next World Cup. Argentina are currently top of the table in South America with a 100 per cent record, but face two of the three teams in joint-second place. They first host Uruguay at midnight on Thursday 16 November, before taking on fierce rivals Brazil at the Maracana half-an-hour later on the night of Tuesday 21 November.
Ecuador
Moises Caicedo – After picking up four points in the last break, Ecuador currently occupy the sixth and final World Cup qualification spot. Next up they travel to high-flying Venezuela, in joint-second place, at 10pm on Thursday 16 November and then welcome Chile to Quito at 11.30pm on Tuesday 21 November.
Morocco
Hakim Ziyech – Morocco have just one fixture this month as their first planned opponents Eritrea have withdrawn from the competition. As a result, their qualifying campaign in Group E will now begin away in Tanzania, with kick-off at 7pm on Tuesday 21 November.
Senegal
Nicolas Jackson – Senegal’s World Cup qualification campaign kicks off on home soil on Saturday 18 November, when they host South Sudan at 7pm. They then travel to Togo at 4pm on Tuesday 21 November, hoping to cement their status as favourites for automatic qualification in Group B.
Euro 2024 qualifying
Belgium
Romelu Lukaku – Belgium are one of nine sides already assured of their spot at Euro 2024, and begin their preparations proper in a home friendly with Serbia at 7.45pm on Wednesday 15 November. They then host Azerbaijan in their final qualifier at 5pm on Sunday 19 November, hoping to maintain their one-point lead at the top of Group F.
England
Conor Gallagher, Cole Palmer – There is little riding on England’s final two qualification matches, with the Three Lions also guaranteed a place in Germany next summer. They face Malta at home at 7.45pm on Friday 17 November and North Macedonia at 7.45pm on Monday 20 November, with both opponents already out of contention in Group C.
France
Axel Disasi – A late addition to the squad to replace Liverpool defender Ibrahima Konate, Disasi joins a France side which has already qualified for Euro 2024. They sit six points clear at the top of Group B going into their final two matches, at home against Gibraltar at 7.45pm on Saturday 18 November and away in Greece at the same time on Tuesday 21 November.
Serbia
Djordje Petrovic – Serbia warm up with a friendly away in Belgium at 7.45pm on Wednesday 15 November, before their final qualifying match at home against Bulgaria at 2pm on Sunday 19 November. They need just a point from that game to seal qualification, but could do so even earlier if Montenegro fail to beat Lithuania on Thursday.
Ukraine
Mykhailo Mudryk – Ukraine’s qualifying campaign comes to a close with a home game to be played in Germany against Italy at 7.45pm on Monday 20 November. Ukraine currently have a three-point lead over their opponents in the race for the second qualification spot in Group C, meaning much will ride on Italy’s earlier game against North Macedonia. Should the Italians win, then Ukraine will need a victory to qualify, while if Italy fail to win then the roles are reversed in the last game.
CONCACAF Nations League
USA
Gaga Slonina – Qualification for the CONCACAF Nations League finals is up for grabs when reigning champions the USA take on Trinidad & Tobago. The first leg of their quarter-final will be played in Austin, Texas at 2am, in the early hours of Friday 17 November. They then conclude the tie away in the Caribbean at midnight on Monday 20 November. The winner will also qualify for the 2024 Copa America, while the loser will enter the play-offs for the final two CONCACAF guest spots in the tournament.
2024 Olympic Games qualifying
Brazil Under-23s
Andrey Santos – There are no fixtures this month, but Santos will join up with his team-mates for a training camp in Brazil, as they prepare for January’s South American Olympic qualification tournament in Venezuela.
2025 European Under-21 Championship qualifying
England Under-21s
Bashir Humphreys, Noni Madueke – Defending champions England have two qualifiers for the next Under-21 Euros, travelling to Serbia for a 4pm kick-off on Saturday 18 November, before hosting Northern Ireland at Goodison Park at 7.45pm on Tuesday 21 November.
Finland Under-21s
Lucas Bergstrom – The Finns have a four-point gap to make up on the top two after a difficult start in Group G. They will be hoping to make a dent in that deficit when they host Armenia in a Euro qualifier at 4pm on Tuesday 21 November, after an away friendly with Sweden at 3pm on Thursday 16 November.
France Under-21s
Lesley Ugochukwu – France made a flying start to qualifying, with a 100 per cent record and a goal difference of +14 from their opening three games. They will attempt to make it four wins from four when they travel to Austria for a 5.30pm kick-off on Friday 17 November, before a home friendly with South Korea at the same time on Monday 20 November.
Italy Under-21s
Cesare Casadei – Italy sit second in Group A, two points behind the Republic of Ireland, who they face away at 5.30pm on Tuesday 21 November. Before that they take on San Marino at the same time on Thursday 16 November, also away.
Netherlands Under-21s
Ian Maatsen – The Netherlands have a 100 per cent record after four wins from four and currently sit five points clear at the top of Group C. They will be hoping to continue that form when they host Gibraltar at 7pm on Thursday 16 November and travel to Sweden for a 5pm kick-off on Monday 20 November.
Other age groups
Portugal Under-20s
Diego Moreira – The winger will attend a training camp that includes two friendlies, at home against Norway at 2pm on Friday 17 November and away in Italy at 6pm on Tuesday 21 November.
