When your team scores five goals away from home, questions around your forwards and wingers are sure to follow. But it is telling that Enzo Maresca decided to stress the importance of his defensive players and midfielders when asked about his side's attack following our 5-1 victory over West Ham United.
Four of our newest attacking arrivals featured in Friday night's emphatic victory victory over the Hammers.
For Joao Pedro, there was a goal and two assists. For Estevao Willian, his late call-up was followed by his own assist. For Liam Delap, his physicality and hold-up played a role in three of the goals. And for Jamie Gittens, he was given a second Premier League outing from the bench following his summer arrival from Borussia Dortmund.
Maresca was asked how happy he was with the attacking quartet during his post-match press conference.
'For sure Joao Pedro, Liam, Estevao and Jamie Gittens will be good, they are all fantastic players,' came the reply.
'You can see probably Liam and Joao are a little bit ahead of the rest, probably because they were already here in England. Jamie needs to adapt, Estevao needs to adapt, [Jorrel] Hato needs to adapt, but overall we are very happy with all of them.'
After going behind to Lucas Paqueta's long-range strike in just the sixth minute, the Blues went on to dominate the majority of the contest and by the 34th minute had gone 3-1 ahead thanks to goals by Joao Pedro, Pedro Neto and Enzo Fernandez.
Further goals from Moises Caicedo and Trevoh Chalobah, our second and third from set-pieces on the night, came during the second half but for Maresca, the resounding win was not solely down to our attacking play.
The Italian is always trying to strike a balance and last night he did that in part by utilising Marc Cucurella as part of a back three when in possession, with Malo Gusto playing high and wide from the right-back slot.
Caicedo produced a typically high-energy display in the heart of midfield, with Enzo Fernandez again pushing up to join our attacking players.
But it wasn't just on the ball when those attacking players made their mark, with the likes of Enzo, Estevao, Neto, Joao Pedro and even No.9 Liam Delap doing their part off the ball, with their press in the Hammers' half and tracking back when needed.
When asked if he was happy with his attack tonight, Maresca replied: 'You need balance. You need Caicedo, Enzo Fernandez, you need Trev, Tosin, Cucu, Malo. The attacking players are important, but at the same time so are the defensive players.'
One thing which would have pleased Maresca in the attacking sense was the way Joao Pedro and Delap lined up alongside each other.
Many might see it as the two of them competing for one position but Joao Pedro showed last night how he can be effective playing in the deeper No.10 role, as well as off the left like we have seen in the past.
'I saw they could both play together,' Maresca said. 'We haven’t played since we started [in the summer] with both together, this was the first time, and it worked quite well. We can do better but overall we are happy with them.'
