Chelsea star Lauren James has scooped the PFA WSL Fans’ Player of the Year title for 2023/24.

James enjoyed another outstanding season in Blue as we collected a fifth Barclays WSL title on the bounce.

The England international produced 13 goals and two assists from just 16 games - scoring at a ratio of 1.04 per 90 minutes.

James was one of three players from our title-winning squad to make the eight-player shortlist, with Niamh Charles and Aggie Beever-Jones also included.

The forward also held off competition from Manchester City's Lauren Hemp, Khiara Keating and Khadija Shaw, Arsenal's Lotte Wubben-Moy and Brighton's Elisabeth Terland.

After becoming one of the standout players in the WSL last year, 2023/24 proved to be another successful one for James.

Highlights included her first WSL hat-trick in a 5-1 victory over Liverpool at Stamford Bridge, a feat she repeated in a 3-1 win against Manchester United on her next outing at the venue.

James also won the Women's Player of the Year honour at our annual club awards earlier this month - another title voted for by the fans. Chelsea claimed both the men's and women's PFA fans' awards with Cole Palmer also winning his category.

Congratulations, Lauren!
