Joao Pedro has been named on the shortlist for the September Premier League Creative Moment of the Month award for his brilliant piece of skill against Hull City.
A strong start to the 2026/27 season has already seen our Brazilian striker named as the Premier League Player of the Month in August, and he has now been nominated for a second Premier League award in as many months.
It came from one particular passage of play in the draw with Hull, when the Blues were pushing for a winning goal after Joao Pedro had netted our equaliser, and he demonstrated why he has been such a handful for defences during the early stages of this season.
First he fooled everyone with a clever dummy to allow Reece James’ pass to run through to Danny Welbeck, then seconds later found his fellow striker again, showing great vision and technique to redirect Cole Palmer’s ball with a back-heeled flick.
Voting for the September Premier League Creative Moment of the Month is open now, and you can cast your vote for Joao Pedro to receive the award here until the poll closes at midday on Monday 28 September. The winner will be announced at 1pm on Thursday 1 October.
The Blues forward is one of five nominated players on the award’s September shortlist, alongside Martin Zubimendi (Arsenal), Emiliano Buendia (Aston Villa), Abdul Fatawu (Ipswich Town) and Liam Delap (Nottingham Forest).
