Joao Pedro’s stunning opener from our win over Napoli has been voted as Chelsea’s January men’s Goal of the Month.
The Brazilian netted twice in our 3-2 win in Naples, with the victory ensuring our place in the knockout stage of the Champions League.
Joao Pedro’s first was a strike of pure quality. Picking the ball up from Cole Palmer, the Brazilian strode forward before unleashing an unstoppable left-footed drive that flew past Alex Meret in the Napoli goal and landed in the far top corner.
So it was no surprise when the forward came out on top in our fan vote to choose our best men’s strike in January, topping the poll with a whopping 56 per cent of the vote.
He beat his fellow Brazilian, Estevao Willian, who took second spot with 16 per cent of the vote for his fine finish in our Premier League victory over Crystal Palace, while Enzo Fernandez’s late winner against West Ham took the bronze medal with nine per cent.
You can see the winning strike above and, trust us, it’s well worth another look!
