It was a dazzling month for the Brazilian, who has made an immediate impact in the Premier League for us, having racked up two goals and two assists during his first three games of the campaign.

Having produced goals in London derby victories against West Ham and Fulham, the forward was awarded Player of the Match on the Chelsea Official App in both matches, and earned the club's Player of the Month prize for August.

Against the Hammers, our summer signing scored our equaliser when he headed in Marc Cucurella's flick-on after a quarter of an hour, before setting up the second for Pedro Neto soon after with a classy cross from the right.

It was then Joao's header which landed at the feet of Trevoh Chalobah for the final goal in the 5-1 victory at the London Stadium.

The following weekend, in the west London derby against Fulham, the Brazilian scored from another corner to give us the lead against the Whites to make it two goals in as many games.
