Chelsea legend Joe Cole visited Chicago this week to unveil the club’s final US Tour date against Borussia Dortmund at Soldier Field, on 2 August.

The Blues will take on the German side as we close out our five-date pre-season preparations in the USA.

Cole joined Dortmund legend Karl-Heinz Riedle pitchside at Soldier Field to celebrate the coming match, with the former Chelsea midfielder saying:

‘It's great that Chelsea are heading back to Chicago, it's such an iconic sporting city. I know the fans here are real die-hards and will come out to support the team in big numbers in August.’

Across the city, Cole visited iconic landmarks in sport, music and culture to celebrate the coming together of London and Chicago, two of the world’s greatest cultural powerhouses.

Iconic music venue Metro was decked out in Chelsea’s match poster, with the venue’s marquee signage adorning the club’s US Tour slogan ‘London Calling’.

He then paid a visit to much-loved record store Reckless Records before taking in a food tour of iconic spots in Chicago cuisine - Billy Goat Tavern, Mister J’s and Gino’s East.

It was a whistle-stop tour of Chi-Town for Cole, who had himself played on the Soldier Field turf for his country against the USA, and he was in high demand from local media, appearing on live television and speaking with a host of US sports media about his time at Stamford Bridge and beyond.

Cole also paid homage to the Chicago great Michael Jordan with a visit to the United Centre, home of the Chicago Bulls, posing for pictures in a customised Bulls jersey gifted to him by the NBA side and taking a tour of the team’s facilities.

Chicago’s legendary baseball stadium Wrigley Field then hosted the three-time Premier League winner before rounding off the visit to the Windy City by taking in Chelsea’s Premier League clash against Arsenal with the club’s Official Supporters Club there, Chelsea Chicago.

It will not be long before Chelsea are back in Chicago this August for our final clash of the team’s US Tour at Soldier Field. Tickets are available to Blues fans here now
