Chelsea defender Jorja Fox will spend this season on loan at Newcastle United.
Fox joined the Chelsea Academy at the age of eight, and signed her first professional contract with the club in August 2021, on the day she turned 18.
It was in the 2020/21 campaign when she made her senior debut for the Blues in a 4-0 away victory against Aston Villa and later that year made her first start in a 5-0 win over London City Lionesses.
Loans to Charlton Athletic and Brighton & Hove Albion followed, and with the latter club Fox made 23 appearances in all competitions before suffering an unfortunate ACL injury in May 2023.
A year later, Fox signed a two-year extension to her contract, keeping her at Chelsea until June 2027. In August 2024, she moved to newly-promoted Crystal Palace on loan until the end of the season.
Unfortunately, she suffered a second ACL injury whilst with the Eagles, and undertook her rehabilitation back at Chelsea. Her loan at Palace ended at the start of January 2025.
Now fully recovered, Fox makes the move to Tyneside, where she will compete in Women's Super League 2 under Becky Langley.
Everyone at Chelsea wishes Jorja every success at Newcastle, and we look forward to seeing her progress this season.
