John Terry has described Eden Hazard as Chelsea's greatest ever player after the Belgian was inducted into the Premier League Hall of Fame, while Jose Mourinho has also had his say on the Blues legend.

Hazard and former Manchester United great Gary Neville are the latest two players to be inducted into the Premier League's Hall of Fame, which was launched in 2020.

The winger won the Premier League and Europa League twice during his seven years at Chelsea, where he also lifted the FA Cup, League Cup and was named our Player of the Season on four occasions.

The inductees were decided by the 24 existing members of the Hall of Fame, following a public poll to help decide on a 15-player shortlist.

Eden becomes the sixth Blues legend to be inducted into the Premier League Hall of Fame, following Petr Cech, Terry, Ashley Cole, Frank Lampard and Didier Drogba.

And Terry was one of those to speak about Hazard in a video which they showed the former Belgium international as part of the announcement.

Terry said: ‘Eden, it’s JT here. I hope you’re doing well. A huge congratulations on being inducted into the Premier League Hall of Fame, which is a fantastic achievement.

'It was a joy to play with you and in my personal opinion, you are Chelsea’s greatest ever player. In terms of pure ability and having someone like you in our team, it was a dream come true. It’s players like you that excite supporters, excite the players on your team, and petrify the opposition as well.

'I love you to bits and I know all the Chelsea fans do. It was a joy to play with you and share many of these trophies – and I’ve got a few of these trophies because of players like you. So a big thank and a huge congratulations.’

Hazard joined Chelsea from Lille in the summer of 2012, just after our first Champions League title, and immediately established himself as a fans' favourite.

The winger made 352 appearances in all competitions for Chelsea, scoring 110 goals and registering 88 assists, but it was the way he got the fans off their seats which he will be most remembered for.

One of the most talented players of his generation, Hazard would eventually leave for Real Madrid in 2019, where he would add the Champions League, La Liga, plus several cup competitions, to his collection, before retiring in 2023 aged 32.

Hazard's first Premier League title came under the guidance of Mourinho and he too spoke of Eden in the video.

Mourinho said: 'Eden, many congratulations on becoming the latest player into the Premier League Hall of Fame.

'I know, you know and everybody knows that you belong in this. You are one of the most amazing players that I have ever worked with.

'I'm sorry about being a pain in your arse a few times! I just wanted you to be better and better and better. Even so, you are in the Hall of Fame and you stay in our memories.

'I enjoyed so much [coaching you] and by the way, thank you so much for my last Premier League title.'
