Chelsea midfielder Keira Walsh was disappointed to be knocked out of the Women's Champions League at the hands of Arsenal on Wednesday evening, and felt that the Blues perhaps merited a better outcome over the two legs.
We went into the match at Stamford Bridge with a 3-1 deficit to overturn, and did come out with a 1-0 victory on the night, but ultimately were knocked out after the Gunners won 3-2 on aggregate.
There were a few regrets after we performed well in both legs, but failed to secure the result we needed to earn a place in the semi-final of the competition.
'Obviously, we're disappointed,' said the experienced midfielder afterwards. 'I think the girls did a fantastic job tonight, and we all really tried to turn it around.
'We all gave 100 per cent tonight, and I think we probably had enough to go through; we just didn't put the ball in the back of the net early enough. I feel like we deserved a little bit more over the two legs.
'All we could've done was give our best tonight, and I think every player did that. That's football, it's about putting the ball in the back of the net, and they did that more than us.'
Despite the initial dismay over the result, Walsh was already seeking out the positives: a solid defensive display and some excellent build-up play.
The England international felt the things that didn't go well could be turned into areas in which we can improve, and emphasised that we still have plenty to play for in the remainder of the campaign.
'The good thing is that we created a lot of chances, and we were great defensively tonight,' she continued. 'For us, it's maybe just learning to stay in the game a little bit more; maybe we could've put ourselves in a better position for playing at home because we're always strong at Stamford Bridge.
'We gave ourselves a little bit too much to do, and maybe that's a learning for us.
'We could still end up with two trophies this season and still qualify for the Champions League, and we can feel positive about that.'
