Kepa Arrizabalaga’s incredible reaction stop to deny Aston Villa’s Jacob Ramsey has been nominated for the Premier League’s Castrol Save of the Season.

The Spaniard produced a stunning reaction stop to deny the Villa midfielder, diving low to his right to tip the shot away after firstly keeping out John McGinn’s initial effort.

Kepa’s save actually landed the Premier League’s Save of the Month for October and now he will go up against five other goalkeepers in the eight-strong list for the overall season prize (Arsenal’s Aaron Ramsdale and Nick Pope of Newcastle are nominated twice).

Up against the Chelsea goalkeeper is the aforementioned Ramsdale and Pope (twice each), Manchester United’s David De Gea, Gavin Bazunu of Southampton and Everton and England goalkeeper Jordan Pickford.

Voting is open now and closes at 6pm on Friday, 2 June, with the winner to be announced on Sunday, 4 June.
