Sam Kerr scored again as Australia secured their place in the Women's Asian Cup semi-finals – and qualified for the 2027 Women's World Cup – by recording a hard-fought 2-1 win over Korea DPR in Perth.
The Chelsea forward played a starring role in the tournament hosts' win, as her ninth-minute pass enabled Alanna Kennedy to break the deadlock. Kerr then doubled Australia's advantage in the second period with a fine left-footed finish from the edge of the box.
It certainly wasn't easy for Australia, though, as Korea DPR pulled a goal back and applied pressure. However, the Matildas, for whom Blues defender Ellie Carpenter completed 90 minutes, hung on to seal victory and advance into the last four.
Australia will face either China or Chinese Taipei in the semi-finals, depending on the result of the match between the two, which will take place at 5am (UK time) on Saturday.
The Matildas' last-four encounter will take place on Tuesday 17 March at 10am (UK time).
