There is plenty of history between Bayern Munich and Chelsea, and ahead of the next chapter in our rivalry, we look at the notable facts and figures related to the fixture...

Chelsea vs Bayern Munich head-to-head

Chelsea and Bayern Munich meet for the seventh time, with five of the previous six games coming in the Champions League and one in the UEFA Super Cup. We return to the Allianz Stadium where we famously won the Champions League in 2012.

The most recent encounter was the 2019/20 Round of 16, when the first and second legs were 165 days apart due to the break caused by the Covid-19 pandemic. Bayern won 7-1 on aggregate. Reece James is the only player from that tie still at the club.

The six previous matches between Chelsea and Bayern Munich have produced 25 goals, an average of four per game.
