We have only played Arsenal more often than Manchester United so there is plenty of history to look back on with this fixture as well as other noteworthy facts and figures...

Chelsea vs Man United head-to-head

We won our last meeting with Manchester United 1-0 at Stamford Bridge in May. We will now be looking to secure consecutive Premier League wins against them for the first time since 2011, when Carlo Ancelotti was in charge (three in a row).

The Blues’ two wins in our past three league games versus the Red Devils (one drawn) are as many as in our previous 17 beforehand (W2 D9 L6).

Chelsea’s overall Premier League record versus Man United has us ahead on victories, with 20 wins to Man Utd’s 19.

Chelsea’s results against Man United make it the most drawn fixture in Premier League history, with 27 of the previous 66 meetings between the sides finishing level.

Our six Premier League victories at Old Trafford have come under six different managers: Glenn Hoddle, Ruud Gullit, Claudio Ranieri, Jose Mourinho, Carlo Ancelotti and Rafael Benitez.

Chelsea have not won any of our past 12 away league games against Manchester United (seven draws, five defeats) which is our longest current such run against any present Premier League club. Our win rate of 18 per cent at Old Trafford in the Premier League (6/33) is our lowest away to any side we have visited ten or more times in the competition.

It is 12 years since Chelsea’s last victory at Old Trafford. Juan Mata’s 87th-minute strike in May 2013 secured all three points for the Blues when Benitez was in charge. The last time the Blues scored more than one league goal at Old Trafford was in April 2010 - when we triumphed 2-1 with goals from Joe Cole and Didier Drogba - on the way to winning the Premier League.

Man Utd are one of only two sides to have scored more than 300 goals against us across all competitions in our history (309). Arsenal (302) are the other.

Chelsea have only played more games against Arsenal (211) than we have played against Man United.
