Sonia Bompastor faced the media at Cobham this afternoon ahead of our trip to Goodison Park to face Everton in the Women's Super League on Sunday. Here are the key takeaways from the Blues head coach's press conference...

Our players have now returned from representing their countries over the international break, and we will begin our final block of fixtures with a trip to Merseyside.

The Blues also announced this week that all 13 of our WSL matches would be played at Stamford Bridge next season.

And that is where we begin in our rundown of the main talking points from today's press conference...

On Stamford Bridge move

'I think it’s really exciting for us to be able to play in that historic stadium. I think we all love to play in that stadium and we want to move in. We want to make sure we progress – and we want to match our ambitions.

On facing Everton

'I have been observing their games, and they are a team that is really well organised defensively. They have quality in transition with the ball, so we know that and we are prepared for that. With the block we had last time, we are also focusing on ourselves. I think we put together some really good performances.'

On Lauren James' form

'LJ is performing at a really good level, and I think the team is also helping her to perform at that level. Having a player like LJ helps a lot because she can create a lot of different opportunities for the team.'

On playing at Goodison

'Last season we played there. It's a great stadium, so it's always nice to play in these grounds. And, as you just mentioned, that stadium has history. It's good for me as a manager and as players to experience that once again.'

On the international break

'Myself and my staff are really prepared for the last block, and we want to make sure we play five games until the end of the season. We have three games left in the league, and we want to qualify for the FA Cup final. We are prepared for that plan, but it was also good to have a little bit of time off with the family.'
