Liam Rosenior is consistent in his desire for consistency from his Chelsea players, with the Blues head coach reiterating he wants to see the same level of 'performance, engagement and intensity in every game that we play'.

During a busy first month in charge of the Blues, Rosenior has overseen eight matches across four different competitions.

Important victories have been celebrated in that run – such as away to Napoli in the Champions League to secure our progression and at home to West Ham United in the Premier League – while there was a painful Carabao Cup semi-final exit at the hands of Arsenal.

The ninth game of Rosenior's tenure takes Chelsea to the East Midlands to face a Wolverhampton Wanderers side that sits bottom of the top flight with just eight points from their 24 matches thus far. Although it is worth noting they have lost just two of their previous seven games in all competitions.

Rob Edwards' appointment at Molineux has played its part in that improvement, and Rosenior believes Wolves were unfortunate not to take more from their previous Premier League outing against Bournemouth, which ended in a 2-0 defeat.

'I've watched Rob's team recently; they actually put in a very good performance against Bournemouth and were unfortunate not to get anything out of the game,' the Blues head coach said during his pre-match press conference.

'I thought they played very, very well and they put in some very positive performances in their last few games.'

Rosenior's pre-match work has focused on lifting the Blues from the 'massive blow' of missing out on the Carabao Cup final on Tuesday evening and preparing his side for another important game in our Premier League campaign.

Not that there has been any dramatic shift in process. Again, consistency is key. 'We prepare in exactly the same way we prepare for any game that we play,' he explained.

'But the biggest thing for me as the head coach of this group is that I want to see consistency in our levels of performance, engagement and intensity in every game that we play.

'That's something I've spoken to the group about. The next game is the most important game and the Wolves game is another huge game for our season.'
